As for the whole Pujols thing, I know it’s all bravado and pride and such, but I’ve never quite understood the purpose of badmouthing someone you might wind up on a team with in the future. I know that a lot of these guys are friends from being on teams or coming up together or whatever, but it’s not like there’s enough fan negativity already. I don’t know what Ryan Howard was like in 2006, but I know I wasn’t terribly impressed in 2008. I mean, he was a good player, but I don’t know that I’d classify him as MVP (from what I understand he did get some votes this year as well). I definitely wouldn’t put Pedroia in first place over guys like KRod or Longoria, but I’m not the one who voted. LOL

Hah! Yea, that is pretty much what I thought when I read that Pujols had won MVP. In fairness, he did have a legitimate gripe — he most definitely should have won in 2006. But it was classless of him to make those comments. He does that too many times for my liking, but he’s such an amazing player that I sometimes give him a pass when he acts like a jerk.
