There is still no formal announcement just yet, but we all know it’s coming. The other players know it, too, and everyone is gradually starting to filter in for Spring Training. Ryan Rowland-Smith took some time to write a short update the other day before heading down to Peoria, and had some brief words to say about the wildfire situation in Australia (initial question courtesy yours truly). My mother and Tom and I have friends living in both Melbourne and Adelaide, and am pleased to report that so far, outside of a brief scare last week, everyone is doing well. 

So, since everything is pretty much set to the point where I doubt there will be any further news, I’m headed off to meet a friend at WingMasters to watch the RedWings layeth the smack-down on the Minnesota Mild Wild. Go, Mariners!
