Back in the 90s, I dated this guy for like 3 years. When we first met, it was all whirlwind and fun – we liked the same music, we liked the same things. We eventually moved in together, introduced each other to our respective friend circles, made plans for our future, talked briefly about marriage. He met my parents. About two years into it, I got a mystery note, unsigned, saying that my boyfriend was cheating on me with a stripper. After a huge blowout fight, things started to go downhill; he started having “financial problems”, staying out all hours, not showing up to work, couldn’t pay rent. Eventually, I found out that he had a HUGE meth addiction all along, and that was where all our money was starting to disappear to. I tried to let it go, thinking it would get better – until one day I came home, and he had pawned a bunch of my music gear for money to buy drugs.
That was basically today’s game, in a nutshell.
Walk it off, son; walk it off.

Morrow needs to clear his head I still think it’d be easier for him to manage his diabetes if he was starting instead of closing.
I hope it wasn’t good music gear he stole.
Eh, I wound up getting most of it back, but still – it was the whole having-the-carpet-yanked-out-from-under-you feeling I didn’t enjoy, in either situation.
It’s funny – didn’t JJ think that Corky was the one with the mental edge to close? And what the hell happened to Morrow’s 100 MPH pitches from last year? I remember him closing several games last year like it was cake. Something ain’t right here, not at all…
He did get back from a DL stint.
I hate injuries almost blew out my elbow pitching and never quite been the same pitching on the mound again… Yeah that’s the most big carpet-yank moment I have so far in my HS life.
Yeah, but it just seems a little crazy that it’s nowhere near what it used to be last year. He’s been kind of mismanaged, and now he’s paying for it. You wouldn’t believe the amount of anti-Morrow sentiment that was on the post-game call-in show today on the radio. A lot of people aren’t happy. I don’t know if it’s misplaced expectations or what, but man, people were mad.
Sorry about your elbow. Ow. I took a 15-foot drop down a sandy cliff at a beach once, but that’s about the worst amount of injury I’ve ever done myself. :/
