Petition for the Mariners gladiator helmets

I’ve decided that the annoyance I feel over the bullpen’s helmet issue isn’t going away any time soon.  My friend Jessica read my initial post about it, along with other stories from mariners.com and the Drayer link I posted earlier. She decided to create an online petition to voice our support for the bullpen and their individuality, and I think it’s an excellent idea. After reading Geoff Baker’s blog further regarding the issue, I think it’s an even more excellent idea. I don’t know if it will work, but it certainly can’t hurt. Please take a little time to read what she (and I) wrote, and sign it. She does plan to deliver it to MLB. If you know others who would like to sign it, by all means please feel free to pass the link around. We share our toys here.

SAVE OUR HELMETS!

Mike Sweeney is sniffly on TV regarding the standing ovation given him for hitting his 100th dinger this evening. If you can’t sign it for the pen, sign it for Sweeney!

This is crap. Bring back the helmets!
I’m wearing one to the next game and I will throw a shit fit if they don’t let me in with it.

I don’t have a Twitter account, I’m afraid (bad experiences with the site made me leave), and one is required to sign. :( Thank you for signing ours, however; I’m still trying to drum up support for this, even though I wonder if it is a lost cause.

Wore my helmet at the game. The guys in the ‘pen loved it so much that I got a few of them to sign it! Thanks Aards, Snell and Kelley!!!!! Hoping to get Lowe and the rest to sign Saturday. If you watched the 8/7 game, you saw me wearing it…I’m also the Ichi-meter sign keeper :-)
    Go Mariners!

    ICHI-METER! Yay!
I was actually at the game last night, and will be again tonight. If I could afford a helmet, I would surely get one, but a t-shirt may have to suffice. That’s awesome. I’m hoping to get enough signatures within a week to take it to the MLB, so please spread the word. Thanks so much for stopping by!

    (sidecarchic’s son)
Our helmet is made out of a plastic Darth Vader helmet and skillfully placed aluminium foil. :p
