SECTION 331

Pushing a Giant Baseball Up a Hill and Watching It Roll Back Down Since 2008

“If you can’t say anything nice” Mariners @ Tigers

Rick Porcello is going up against Felix today, fresh off his suspension for defending himself against Kevin Youkilis. Granted, Porcello hit Youk with a pitch, but watching the 20-year-old, stick-thin pitcher have the presence of mind to use Youkilis’ hulking momentum against him is just priceless. It’s like watching a fight between a grizzly bear and Yoda in Attack of the Clones. Sweep the leg, Porcello!

In other news; still sick, Dustin Ackley, most likely missing the march on Thursday pre-Sounders game.

    I like Rick Porcello——- Because…..

I went to the game at Safecoin April where he got his 1st Major league Win (which I didnt like)…..but I had a a Detroit Fan who offered me $125 for all 4 of my ticket stubs for that game.

Needless to say…I was more than happy to sell him the ticket stubs for more than it cost me to goto the game :-)

Even the Griffey HR games, those I only get around $10 each ticket stub on average :-)

People pay you for your stubs?!? That’s crazy!
I kept all mine last year, but this year they’ve gone pretty much everywhere, I just haven’t paid much attention.

they dont pay for just an average game ticket stub……
    Specific plays for specific things…

Debut Tickets, I have listed them online and had family members actually buy them before.

Career Hit #1 (like Micheal Saunders, $5)

Things I have had people pay for stubs…

Griffey HRs in the Game usually $5-$20
    Milestone Games
Example Aug 15 Jeter broke the Hit Record for SS 2675 hits
    $10-$30
A-rod HRs Tickets (use to be around $5-$10…now its $5)

    Ichiro record 262 hit in 2004….$110 :-)
I picked up 20 of themof the ground at the game….averaged over $75 per ticket…LOL…paid for the entire season

And when Raphael Palmeiro hit his #3000 carreer hit here…I found 30 Ticket stubs as the game….$50 a peice …but now you can only sell them for $15ish

    Basically

If someone debuts in the game….it “might” get ya $5….but if the player becomes a Great player….
Well…Example…I was at Derek Jeters first game at the Kingdome….had someone offer me $10 bucks for it in 1998….I sold it last year for $250
Same as Career Hit #1 and HR #1….worth $1 to $5
But if they make it Big….If ya happen to have Griffey HR #1 tickets….I’d say you could get $500 for it

For the Most part…out of 81 home games….(without having Griffey)…maybe 5-8… games you can get money for the ticket stub….

Basically…the bigger the milestone…the better chance and price.

With Debut and Hit #1 and Win #1…I usually just stash them away…ya never know.

And if you are ever at a game with a No Hitter or Cycle or something like that….grab every single ticket off the ground that ya see….you can pay for next years season ticket package if ya get enough of them

Its not something to count on….but….if you are aware of it…you can be ready to take advantage of it.

With Griffey HR Tickets in a game…I actually has someone who has prepaid me at the begining of the season $100 to give him a ticket from every home game he gets a HR in…at $10 a piece…..so hopefully he starts hitting some more….cause I could sure use some more free hotdogs :-)
