I only have to bother everyone with one more of these!
We got Jack Hannahan from the Oakland A’s. I guess that organization figured that they didn’t need a bench guy with infield range, and traded him to us for some pitcher named Justin Souza. I like Hannahan’s defense more than his offense (his OPS is Bloomquist-ian, his BA hovers just a few points above Mendoza), and in general, I think he’s made an excellent utility guy for us this year. I remember him being a bit of a thorn in our sides early in the year – Oakland hasn’t been stellar this season, but Hannahan was the guy who kept catching line drives, and always being there to stifle our offense during an early series. Now, he’s doing that here to other teams, and I’m perfectly OK with that.
So thank you, Oakland, for Jack Hannahan!
