That game was so painful for me. I can’t even tell you. I hope that was a season’s worth of clunkers in one game.

FYI, Arlington Stadium was torn down YEARS ago. The ballpark is now called Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

Missed the first part of the game, but enjoyed the heck out of the last few innings. Some tantalizing hints of offense, almost enough to give me hope that there is a future for this team. Really liked watching Wilhelmsen in the ninth inning, even though it wasn’t “closing”.

I don’t have a big issue with Ichiro, but I don’t think he needs to play every single game either. The M’s will need to have a replacement in right field at some point, and the kids need to play more right now IMO.

I don’t know if Wilhelmsen is a closer or not, but League seemed pretty shaky the last few times I have watched him. Hopefully he won’t sink!

I would find that totally acceptable, but maybe not the Ichiro thing. Lookout Landing (I’m pretty sure it was Matthew) did something over the weekend about how Ichiro has remained pretty much the same outside of BABIP. I’d copy and paste, but for whatever reason Firefox is not allowing me to do that. Annoying. Anyway, the other parts I agree. I don’t know if Wilhelmsen has closer stuff, what with high leverage situations being what they are. But he has his location, and that is absolutely necessary. Maybe it would become a thing where if we just tossed him into the water, he’d simply swim. I’d like to think that would happen.

Thanks for the pictures, and you have every right to vent (as do all Mariner fans)! How about cutting Figgins right now, making the bartender closer for awhile, and letting Ichiro sit on the bench at least once a week?

Megan – Good interview. It is interesting to read what other fans are feeling about the Mariners. I loved the line about not having any expectations, although I would be pleasantly surprised by a winning streak of more than 2 games!

I just RSVPd, so we’ll see what happens. I’m taking some friends with me, it should be an interesting experience. I never get to go to these luncheon things, because they always happen in the middle of the week when I have to be at work.
What I’m looking forward to now is tomorrow’s game, one of my season games, and Felix vs. Yu Darvish. What luck!

I feel for the broadcasters- I mean, how many times can you say the team is awful without coming right out and saying it? All they can do is stick to the facts and sadly, those facts are just a bummer right now. :/
I’m just banking on the price of lower bowl seats going down on StubHub, at this point. I rarely sit down there, but I’m thinking if things keep going this way, I might be able to get some good seats at a premium. *sigh*
