Goodbye, Adrian Beltre

I’m still at school – found my tire flat on the one day I didn’t bring my cell phone (I think someone may have slashed it), so now I wait for Tom to drive all the way up here to come and help me with it or call AAA, or whatever it is we need to do (the jack that came with the car is not at all something I would dare use on the frame – it looks like it’s made out of sticks and rubber cement).

First day of school, first flat tire on my Hyundai (lovingly dubbed Ichiro, back when I got it in 2007, no joke, I really did name it that, just like I’ve named several pet fish after other baseball players), first day of certainty that Adrian Beltre will never again wear a Mariners uniform. We all knew it was going to happen, I think – kind of like you know that Mt Rainier will eventually erupt and destroy everything in its path – but it would be far more devastating if Rainier actually did erupt and destroy everything in its path, and it’s devastating to know that Adrian Beltre will, in all likelihood, never wear a Mariners uniform again.

To push my day even further into the red, I somehow managed to re-hyperextend my knee while sitting – sitting! – in math class earlier today. To complete the Pantheon of Sucktacularity, maybe someone will next inform me that David Aardsma has died in a fiery car crash, or that that Chad Bradford has truly decided to retire. I will be elated when today finally meets its demise.

Goodbye, Adrian. We’re gonna miss you hard.

Now We just Hope the Red Sox Spiral out of control to a losing record in 2010……

Which Forces the Red Sox to dump salary…..

Boston then trades Beltre back to us in July as the Mariners head to the playoffs.

Yeah, first stop today will likely be Les Schwab to get it fixed/replaced. Those little donut tires just look pathetic. lol
