I didn’t get to watch much of the game tonight, but I heard Casey Kotchman hit a home run over the radio, and when I was done with my appointment, I got back in the car and turned on the game again, delighted to find out we were up a run, with a score of 3-2.
And then we brought in Brandon League.
And then Brandon League gave up a three-run home run to Alberto Callaspo.
And then Garrett Olson struck out Wilson Betemit (yay!).
And then Garrett Olson gave up a solo homer to Mitch Maier (boo!).
We got swept by the Kansas City Royals. We are staring down the barrel of a four-game series against the New York Yankees, and we got swept by Kansas City. I’m going to be at Friday’s game, a game that is reported to likely be Cliff Lee’s last start. I’ll be the one dressed in black, crying on the shoulder of my friend Craig, who will be decked out in all of his best Yankees finery.
My suffering will be legendary, even in Hell.
