This is going to be short and sweet, because I have a lot to do this morning before I leave the house, but I wanted to make sure and get some pictures into a post today, since it is finally the day that baseball comes back to Seattle. MLB’s opening day is great and all, but it’s not really real until I get to sit outside and watch it happen in front of me. There’s opening day, and then there’s OPENING DAY. And OPENING DAY is finally, blissfully, here.
And the game! Today’s game will take place under very similar conditions; it’s supposed to be up in the 70s this afternoon, which is just fine by me. I’d rather that than the cold rainy conditions that we have had so many years prior. Baseball is far nicer when played under blue skies.
I’ve flexed my work schedule so that I can get out early and Tom and I will be headed to the Elysian for a late lunch and some drinks before heading to the stadium to hang out in line for hopefully not super long prior to early open at 4.40PM. Not for nothing, but I’m actually hoping we can find a gate that will let us in earlier, as Tom is currently rocking a boot and a cane due to his broken foot. But no worries if not. I have a terrifically sunny outlook today, because today is Opening Day! BASEBALL IS HERE!
