The fauna is quite diverse with 35 described and several undescribed species. Approximately half of all species are endemic to the main island, Grande Terre, and surrounding islands and coral reefs. Despite its small size and isolated position, New Caledonia is inhabited by representatives of most families of semi-aquatic bugs (Gerromorpha) -Mesoveliidae, Hebridae, Hydrometridae, Hermatobatidae, Veliidae and Gerridae. New records of true bugs (Hemiptera, Heteroptera) from the Maltese Islands
Attilio Carapezza
A list of 133 species of heteropteran bugs collected from the Maltese Islands is presented; 21 of them are new records for the Maltese archipelago whereas an additional 15 represent new records for individual islands of this archipelago. The new records are of native origin in the Maltese Islands with the exception of Corythauma ayyari which is an Oriental species rapidly expanding its distribution range in Europe and Saudi Arabia. Earlier records of Capsodes gothicus and Gonocerus insidiator from Malta are incorrect and should refer to C. vittiventris and G. imitator respectively. The presence of Tuponia brevirostris in Malta is confirmed since this record was previously based only on the catalogue of Palaearctic Heteroptera without original data. A total of 15 species previously reported from the Maltese Islands are considered as doubtful. Considering the results of the present paper with additions and corrections made to the checklist of Maltese Heteroptera, the total number of c...

The first record of Amphiareus constrictus (Stål, 1860) (Heteroptera: Anthocoridae) on the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain) is reported. This is the first record of the species in the Canary archipelago. Furthermore, the first records of Fulvius borgesi Chérot, J. Ribes & Gorczyca, 2006 (Heteroptera: Miridae: Cylapinae) on the island of Tenerife and the first record of Plinachtus imitator (Reuter, 1891) (Heteroptera: Coreidae: Coreinae: Gonocerini) on the island of Lanzarote are reported. Additional information on the distribution of the three species is summarised.

Checklist of Aquatic Heteroptera genera (Insecta: Hemiptera) from Brazilian Savanna (Cerrado Biome), with family and genera identification key
Maria Julia Martins Silva
Insects of the order Hemiptera (Heteroptera) are considered the largest group of insects with incomplete metamorphosis. Representatives of the Gerromorpha and Nepomorpha infraorders are found in the Brazilian Savanna (Cerrado Biome). This manuscript provides information about the occurrence and distribution of families and genera that occur in the states of the Cerrado Biome, deposited in the UnB Aquatic Invertebrate Collection (CIAq-UnB). The collection started in 1995 and have aquatic specimens of Cerrado Biome. An identification key is also presented for the families and genera that occur in this region.
