Dina frees Allie from capture and the pair make their way through a homeless community. Allie rants at consumerism and mismanagement of funds from the government. He then convinces Dina of his plan to flee America with the family and set up a new life in Mexico.

The film tells the story of a family that leaves the United States and tries to find a happier and simpler life in the jungles of Central America. However, their jungle paradise quickly turns into a dystopia as their stubborn father's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and aggressive.

We see how much they care for the kids and we see that Margot was as extreme as Allie, just in their different ways – Margot was an anarchist activist who plotted to blow up a building with new man Richard and successfully does so – but is left behind and ends up living with the guilt that she killed someone.

Allie seemed to sacrifice his life to save Charlie, blowing up Ian Hart's highly dangerous William Lee, and leaving the rest of his family to make a new home on a remote part of the coast.
